We continue to evaluate our travel waiver policy and have heard from you that customers need a little more time to book their future travels. We’re pleased to now offer additional flexibility for unused flight credits.

·         For any AAdvantage^® members (including new enrollments):
Tickets originally issued January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2021 are now valid for exchange by September 30, 2022, with travel completed by December 31, 2022. *

*Basic Economy tickets issued on or after April 1, 2021 are non-changeable.

·         For non-AAdvantage^® members:

If your customers aren’t already members of our award-winning loyalty program, all they need to do is join today to receive additional ticket flexibility.

It’s easy to sign up, and membership in the AAdvantage^® program makes flying on American even easier. Plus, it’s completely free to join.

·         Waiver code:
When exchanging your customers’ eligible tickets, please ensure that the following waiver code is entered into the Endorsement Box of the new ticket:

AEXT/[insert customer’s seven-digit AAdvantage number]
For example: AEXT/XXXXXXX

Please note: the AAdvantage^® number noted in the waiver code will need to match the AAdvantage^® number used on the new ticket.
